GAJU KHAN a Competent, Learned & Gallant Pakhtoon leader.

                In Swabi, near the old road of Sher Shah Soori, Gajwano Dherai, in the graveyard of the arid areas of Shah Mansoor, The GREAT founder of PukhtoonKhwa, GAJU KHAN  is lying on his eternal sleep.

            He is that Gallant & Daring Pakhtoon leader, whose frightening name would creats earth  quake in the royal courts at Dehli.  In whose honour and respect, famous gallant leader like Sher Shah Soori used to welcome him warm haertedly. He was the one whose sword's glimpse would send back the armies of Mughuls, Turks and Gaggar. He is the one whose heavy voice of a Pakhtoon Leader, terrified a great Mughal King Hamayun & his armies run away to Kabul. GAJU KHAN, the master of sword & pen has created a Garden of Eden for Pakhtoon Nation Known as "Pakhtoonkhwa".

            Even now after 500 years the Pakhtoon live with grace and dignity in the same heaven around high mountains & floating streams of Crystal Clear Water along with green orchades and pastures.

            This great , leading leader and  ruler GAJU KHAN was born on the Pakhtoon soil of Kabal at the house of Malak Qara in 1490. His grandfather was the minister of Sikander Lodhi who was an Afghan King of Hindustan. Mughals leaders, that time, started mercilees slaughter of YOUSAFZAI leaders at Kabul.  GAJU KHAN  in the lap of his mother migrated to Dohaba from Kabul along YOUSUFZAI tribe in the leadership of MALAK AHMAD KHAN.
  
          Who knew that his child in the lap of a mother, in homless conditions, would win for Pakhtoon a  homeland-Pakhtoonkhwa, where they will be free as bird in the sky.
  
          The gallant GAJU KHAN , at early stage displayed tremendous courage & skill in Swat War which was fought in 1515. He face injuries & he also suffered a great deal as a young ruler who took part in the war. These wounds have not only taught him the skill as sword man but it also has created great love for fighting in the heart of this young great ruler.  That was the reason that GAJU KHAN  led the army as commander in Chief in the historical war of Kattlang in 1520. It was the war which resulted in the creation of Pukhatoonkhwa - motherland of Pakhtoon long standingdesire of Pakhtoon Race.
  
          After the death of  MALAK AHMAD KHAN in 1530, GAJU KHAN became the leader and ruler of Pukhtoonkhwa. His inborn quality as a ruler made the boundries of Pakhtoonkhwa extended to the far flung areas in all direction till Jehlum and Qandahar. Pakhtoonkhwa and all Afghan tribes whole heartedly and unanimously accepted GAJU KHAN  as their Ruler. In the Leadership of GAJU KHAN the Pakhtoon and non-Pakhtoon army reached to the number of 0.2million (2 Lac).
  
           Till 1540 a vast area of Punjab till Pindi-Gate came under the control of Pukhtoonkhwa. In 1550 at Sheikh Tapoor, he defeated Ghurya Kheil tribe-supporter of Mughal Emperor in a historical war. That area was under control of the Mughul Ruler and they got control till Peshawar.  In 1552, in the war of Mangrawo, KHAN GAJU  along with 1,60,000 soldiers attacked the state of Mangrawo and a decisive war defeated Ghayas-u-Din, the ruler of Mangrawo and it was brought under control. 
  
          In 1552, KHAN GAJU  attacked Ghakkar state and occupied the area till Jehlum. Sardar Adam Khan the ruler of Ghakar state surrendered and accepted defeat and appeared before GAJU KHAN. He accepted annual tax as atonement for the expenditure of war only then GAJU KHAN forgave him.
  
          In 1553, Mughal emperor Humayun attacked Peshawar from Kabul and KHAN GAJU along 2,50,000 soldiers counter attacked them at Peshawar. Mughal General Sikander Uzbek, Commander of Mughal Army was forced to take shelter in Balahisar Fort. Humayun stayed at Khyber  That time but instead of proceeding towards Peshawar for the help of  Sikander Uzbek he went back to Kabul and left him at the mercy of KHAN GAJU and his Army. On Payement of the expenditure of war and apology for the attack, KHAN GAJU sent Sikander Uzbek safely back to Humayun.
  
          GAJU KHAN was a competent, learned and gallant Pakhtoon leader.  He won for Pakhtoon a homeland of their oen where they live in a free and sovereign state.
  
          KHAN GAJU  from Abasin Hund till Hindu Raj established plastered road, security forts and several institution to educate these deprived Pakhtoon  who always remained thirsty for knowledge. He also established Dams from rainy water and utilized the water for irrigation and agriculture purposes. For trade and business he established bazaars and markets at different parts of Pakhtoonkhwa for the economic growth and prospperity of Pakhtoon.

           GAJU KHAN was the first ruler who united the army of Pakhtoon race and established arms and weapon centre. He also established a well organized charity centre (bait-ul-mall) and he ruled the Pakhtoon for 35 years in a graceful and majestic manner.
